Quality Assurance Engineer

You will leverage your technical expertise in manual testing of web and mobile applications to ensure our solutions meet the highest standards of quality and performance. Joining our dynamic and fast-paced environment, you will work with cross-functional teams to deliver industry-leading products that improve the operational experience for restaurant teams and deliver meaningful cost savings.

As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you will join a small team at the beginning of a growth story and, as an individual contributor, play a critical role in ensuring the quality, scalability, and innovation of our product offerings. You will utilize your skills in areas such as web, mobile, and performance testing while working closely with our Lead Quality Assurance Engineer and Director of Product. Your contributions will be pivotal as we bring our innovative products to market and continue to push the boundaries of technology solutions in the foodservice industry.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and Execute Test Plans: Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases for web and mobile applications.

Identify and Report Defects: Detect, document, and track software defects and inconsistencies using established tracking tools.

Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand product requirements and provide feedback on usability and functionality.

Perform Regression Testing: Conduct thorough regression testing when defects are resolved to ensure issues have been adequately addressed without affecting existing features.

Participate in Design Reviews: Engage in design and requirement discussions for new features to contribute insights on potential risks and improvement opportunities.

Maintain Testing Documentation: Keep accurate records of testing activities, results, and other quality assurance documentation.

Assist in Reproducing Customer Issues: Help replicate and troubleshoot customer-reported issues to facilitate timely resolutions.

Enhance QA Processes: Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA methodologies, tools, and processes.

Ensure Compliance: Verify that products meet company standards, industry regulations, and best practices.

Stay Updated on Industry Trends: Keep abreast of new testing tools and strategies to enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness.

Job requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

Experience: 3-5 years of experience in manual testing of web applications; experience with mobile app testing is a plus.

Technical Skills: Strong understanding of software QA methodologies, best practices, and processes. Familiarity with test management tools like JIRA, Xray, or Testrail.

Test Documentation: Proven ability to write clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.

Development Processes: Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies. Experience with CI/CD is a big plus.

Adaptability: Willingness to roll up one’s sleeves to get the job done and adapt to changing priorities..

Analytical Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work effectively with team members, partners, and clients from diverse backgrounds and functions.

Teamwork: Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.

Software Proficiency: Experience with business software solutions such as MS Office, Google Suite, Slack, and email platforms.

Additional Skills: Experience with automated testing frameworks, fluency in spanish, and previous experience working with overseas teams would be very advantageous..
